Out of Office

Who says office chairs are more comfortable than tree stumps? Surrounded by nature, you surely won't miss your old office environment (including the reception - front desk or cell).

The stars, moon, and text in this pattern are GLOW IN THE DARK. They are done with DMC E940, which means they give off a white-green hue after being 'charged' in a light source. For more information, see explanation below.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION:

This design uses 24 DMC colours and requires no backstitch.

Fabric used in the image: 32ct linen 'French Country by Permin of Copenhagen.

The pattern is 123 stitches wide x 92 stitches high. On count 14 fabric, the design is 8-3/4 inches wide x 6-1/2 inches high, or 22.3cm wide x 16.7cm high. To calculate this pattern's size with any other count than 14, use an online cross stitch calculator. The pattern also contains measurements for 16 and 18 count Aida.
 
The text, stars, and moon in this pattern are GLOW IN THE DARK. This effect is noticeable but subtle. Due to the nature of the threads, the effect lasts for a limited amount of time, as the threads need an occasional source of light to work. To reignite the threads, simply 'charge' the finished embroidery piece in a source of light for a while. After this, the glow-in-the-dark effect should work as before :)

Be careful ironing this piece, as DMC E940 is made from polyester! I cannot guarantee that the threads hold up nicely, or that the glow-in-the-dark effect will work after ironing.
